Driving Classes.jpg  NYS Driving Exam:

The driving exam allows you to demonstrate your ability to drive.  You must provide a vehicle that is licensed and properly equipped for the driver’s license classification you are seeking.  If the vehicle is registered outside of New York, it must meet the registration requirements of the respective state.  You will be required to show proof of vehicle insurance inside the Driver Services facility.  If you violate any traffic law or commit any dangerous action while taking the exam you will automatically fail.  You and the examiner are both required to wear safety belts during the driving exam, as required by law.

We are the best driving school in the Buffalo, NY area!

5-Hour Pre-Licensing Course Buffalo, NY Our driving courses will help you understand the following traffic laws:

  • Safety Belt Laws
  • Speed Limits
  • Right-of-Way
  • Signaling and Turning
  • Parking

Safety Belts

Safety belts are the most effective means of saving lives and reducing serious injuries in traffic crashes.  It is estimated that seat belts save 9,500 lives each year yet only 68 percent of the motor vehicle occupants are buckled.  In 1996, more than 60 percent of the occupants killed in fatal crashes were unrestrained.

If a seat belt is worn correctly, it will apply most of the collision or stopping forces across the chest and pelvis, which are better able to withstand collision forces.  A seat belt should not be worn twisted, as the full width of the belt is required to spread motor vehicle collision forces across the body.

Wearing a seat belt loosely or placing the shoulder belt under the arm or behind your back instead of across the chest, could, in the case of a collision or sudden stop, result in an injury-producing impact with the vehicle interior, or ejection from the vehicle.  Wearing a lap belt across the stomach, instead of low across the hips, allows collision forces to be applied to the soft tissue of the body, increasing the chance of injury.

Basic Traffic Laws:

  • Don't drink and drive.  Don't drive when you're taking medication that willPerfect Driving.jpg
    affect your driving.
  • Always wear your seat belt.
  • Obey the speed limits.  Slow down when road and weather conditions are
  • Don't take risks: don't cut people off in traffic, make sudden lane changes
    or run yellow lights.
  • Don't drive when you’re tired, upset or sick.
  • If you're in doubt, let the other driver go first — yield the right-of-way.
  • Keep a two-second space between your vehicle and the one ahead.  To
check your distance: start counting when the vehicle ahead passes a fixed
object; stop counting when your vehicle reaches the same spot.
  • Cut the distractions: don’t overcrowd the vehicle or play loud music.
  • Always check your blind spot: look in your mirror and over your shoulder
    before you change lanes.
  • Check traffic in all directions before going into an intersection.
